Maths Around the World – Teaching Resource
Maths Around the World – Perfect for World Maths Day 2025! (March 2025)
Phileas Fogg has pledged to travel around the world in just eighty days – but he needs your pupils’ help! It’s all going to take a lot of maths, you see – from calculating the amount of luggage he can take with him to keeping within his budget to interpreting boat and train timetables – and he’s really struggling.

Maths Around the World
This teaching resource pack from As Creatives features five age-appropriate maths challenges for every year group from EYFS to Year 6/P1-P7, taking Phileas from London to Paris, Paris to Cairo, Cairo to Hong Kong (via the Taj Mahal), Hong Kong to New York – and back to London again. The pack comes complete with opening and closing films, together with additional age-appropriate worksheets for each year group exploring the maths of iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China and the Statue of Liberty – proving that there really is Maths all Around the World.
Eighty days. That’s 1,920 hours … or 115,200 minutes … or, if you will, 6,912,000 seconds. Can Phileas do it? Well, with your children’s help, anything is possible!
