Making Sense of Sound

An active investigation of the science of sound – with acoustic high jinks!

Introduction

This highly active drama-based workshop uncovers how we – and other living things – make sense of sound.

Pupils will explore what sound ‘is’, the properties of sound from different media, the relationships between distance, pitch and amplitude and the often surprising ways in which some animals use and make use of sound!

Are there any technical requirements?

Each working space needs to be equipped with laptop/screen/projector, so pupils can view the supporting PowerPoint throughout.
